There was a suggestion that with the flashing images of the production companies backgrounds there may be a risk concerned with people who suffer from epilepsy. Therefore, after researching into epilepsy on http://www.epilepsy.org.uk/ we decided to add a warning at the start of our film to inform the audiences of the use of flashing images.

Jessica Priddlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05821283112620592511noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3130929284822891328.post-60207887239555484282010-05-06T23:09:00.003+01:002010-05-06T23:19:27.876+01:00Our own Production CompanyWe finally came to a conclusion to the names of our production companies.

We decided to name our film 'Ripper' by calling the film 'Ripper' it gives the audience an idea of the genre of the film, and also that the film is about Jack the Ripper.
This name suited our film rather than the others as it includes the killers name and also the way in which he killed his victims by ripping their bodies apart.
I really loved the title of the film it is very catchy and is quick and sharp which will grab the attention of the audience.Jessica Priddlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05821283112620592511noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3130929284822891328.post-53035258653182419592010-05-06T22:28:00.002+01:002010-05-06T22:42:46.146+01:00Ideas for Film TitleOur group has been trying to think of a name for our Jack the Ripper themed film.
Some of the names that we thought to call it were:
* The Silver Knife - as this was the main weapon that Jack the Ripper used. However, we thought that the audience would not immediately associate the film title with Jack the Ripper.
* 1988 - which is the year that the murders took place, but in order to relate the film with the title we would need to explore the year in more depth and explicitly make the audience aware that the murders took place in 1888. Which I personally do not feel is needed and that we should think of a more catchy, gripping title name.

Finally, Dom watched the a comedy film 'Scary Movie' which mocks horror films. She really liked the opening title shot of the knife cutting through the screen and the text (Scary Movie) come up. She showed the rest of the group and we all loved the credits, which have given us some more ideas for our own.

Therefore, we decided to keep the font in red but got rid of the thin black outline and made it all red instead. By changing the colour and making the font slightly bigger the font does not blend into the background as much and was clearer to read.Jessica Priddlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05821283112620592511noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3130929284822891328.post-8208610924828952312010-03-19T11:25:00.002+00:002010-03-19T11:38:37.975+00:00Changing CreditsOriginally for our credits we used the font Papyrus that was in iMovie however after we decided that the font we had chosen did not fit well with the time period that our film opening was set in.
However, in iMovie we were limited to the fonts that we could use and many of them were very modern.

We later found a website http://www.1001freefonts.com/ which we could download fonts from.

We were trying to find a creepy font that looked similar to the handwriting of Jack the Ripper, we tried many different fonts such as 'A Charming Font', 'Slammer Tag', 'Deportees' and others. While we were being taught how to use the music software properly we also began to play around and make our own thriller film music.
In my group we all were using very similar sounds and loops from garageband and Michelea came up with the best and most creepy sounding music that we think will work well with our film opening, when we receive our saved pieces of work from the centre we will play the music with our film and see how the two pieces fit together.Jessica Priddlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05821283112620592511noreply@blogger.com0
